Our Story
It all started with an idea to find a fashionable and meaningful way to bring faith, peace, joy, hope, and encouragement into women's lives – and has evolved into something so much more.
Several years ago, my mom was wearing a unique charm bracelet that had a quote or saying on each charm. Later, I had the thought – what if the bracelet featured my favorite Bible verses on each of the charms? A scripture charm bracelet would really be a great way to offer hope and encouragement during the day. I find that it's so amazing how reading a Bible verse is such an immediate pick-me-up.
My mom and I started working together on ideas for scripture bracelets. We tried out lots of different options with papers, fonts, bracelet blanks, glues, charms, and glass cabochons, and in 2013 we founded ScriptCharms – a name which combines “scripture” and “charms”. Each one of our pieces is hand crafted. I'm a graphic designer and design each charm. My mom (an artist who is enjoying retirement) then creates each charm bracelet and necklace.
We have since added many more meaningful charm bracelets, necklaces and accessories to our line of Christian jewelry. Our most popular pieces are the I Am, Encouragement Scriptures, Proverbs 31, and personalized Mothers' and Grandmothers' charm bracelets, as well as our line of laser-engraved Italian leather and stainless steel scripture bracelets for men, women and youth.
With the popularity of our faith-based jewelry, we also started our line of "YOUnique" jewelry. These unique and fun glass charm bracelets and necklaces tell a bit about what you love. There are bracelets for teachers as well as chocolate, wine, coffee, dog, and book lovers, featuring sayings like, “Keep Calm and Go To the Library,” and “I’d give up chocolate, but I’m not a quitter.”
Although it's a lot of fun spending time with my mom creating bracelets, the most rewarding aspect of our business is hearing the stories from recipients of our ScriptCharms pieces. Many tell about how reading the verses on their ScriptCharms jewelry have helped them through tough times. People have purchased our items as gifts for friends and family who are battling cancer or illness, are going through surgery, are experiencing depression, or have suffered a miscarriage or loss of a spouse, parent, or child. It’s very fulfilling to know we’re making a difference in lives of others.
